Luxembourg’s Foreign Minister Hospitalised
Luxembourg’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs was admitted to hospital on Monday after a fall in his official residence on Wednesday.
According to official reports, an ambulance was called in the early hours of Monday morning to convey Mr. Jean Asselborn to a special facility in Luxembourg’s prestigious Central Hospitalier, where he was received by a team of medical specialists, who were on hand to stabilise him. He was subsequently admitted in the facility where his condition is being monitored around the hour by the medical team
According to George Bley, spokesperson of Luxembourg’s Foreign Ministry, “The pain was so bad that he was forced to go to the emergency room on Wednesday morning. He is, however, conscious. I got him on the phone all day. I can say that he is recuperating well”.
Mr. Bley also disclosed that “previously scheduled appointments the Ministry have been shifted until after June 16th”, meaning that “In principle”, full operations of the ministerial department “would commence after this date”.
